Unlike most Cryptanthus, C. argyrophyllus has oval, somewhat symetrical leaves with fine marginal spines. The trichomes are so thick that the plants leaves at times appear to have frosted bands. The plant can grow to be a large clump with several "heads". As with all Cryptanthus, the flowers are white and bloom from the top of the plant. Shipped as a mature offset bare root.
